Traditional Cheshire Property – Roofing Case Study

After a site visit to the property, Beddard Roofing was appointed to carry out works on this traditional Cheshire property. The Communication between all parties involved was the key to success. The visual roofing case study follows the process from start to finish. The following points are how the project was undertaken and we achieved the programme with great customer satisfaction.

  • Erect safety scaffolding around the entire property for the duration of the work
  • Carefully remove and dispose of all the ridge tiles, hip tiles and roof tiles
  • Remove and dispose of all the old laths and felt
  • Check all roof timbers and current insulation levels and advise accordingly
  • Remove lead from all the valleys and replace with new Code 4 lead
  • Fit new fascia vents and eve support trays
  • Felt the roof using fully breathable roofing felt to meet BS5534 requirements
  • Lath the roof using treated graded laths to meet BS5534 requirements
  • Tile the roof using a mixed brindle clay roof tile
  • Fit new Arris hip tiles to all hips
  • Remove the lead work from around the chimney stacks and replace with new Code 4 lead
  • Fit new clay angle capped ridge tiles
  • All lower level roofs are to be stripped and re-roofed to the same spec as the main roof
  • Remove scaffolding and all debris from site
